Thank you for visiting my site.
I’m a mixed media artist living in Salem, Oregon. My home is a tiny cottage in a downtown neighborhood surrounded by giant Douglas firs, redwoods, and verdant backyard gardens.
My art comes from a different landscape. Memory, family stories, origins, dreams, and longing are the markers on my heart’s topography. I frequently use an undecipherable text, which I have heard called “wild mouth,” underneath images. This “language” represents my deep desire to make connections, realizing that sometimes language only keeps us further apart.
Right now I’m working with plaster on board–painting, carving, sanding, and resurfacing to reveal the real voice of the piece. I also love painting with acrylic and inks on silk tissue to make wall hangings and handmade books.
